Royal Jellly

Nowadays it is a well known fact that royal jelly is very nutritious and is often recommended as a healthy diet supplement because it contains lots of minerals and vitamins. Roald Dahl wrote this funny short story about someone who decides to give royal jelly to a new baby but doesn't know when to stop!

I'm a beekeeper and I sell honey to make my living. I know a lot about bees because I work with them and read a lot of books about them. there and different kinds of bees but the one that fascinates me most is the queen... 
she is fed on royal jelly all her life and that is what makes her different from the rest. she is the one that lives the longest lays eggs all her life. Isn't that amazing!

Albert and I were so thrilled when our baby daughter was born.
After so many years together, I was beginning to think we would never have a family! She's a very small little thing and deeps on losing weight because she won't drink her baby milk. the doctor says not to worry but I can't help it because she's getting thinner every day!

Crazy races

50000 people watched this crazy cart race in Bogota, Colombia. 64 teams raced their carts on a series of slopes until the finish line. the carts, or "balineras", weighed less than 100kg and had no engine. One of the team members said it was " a spectacular race". But who won? the fish team in the photo, of course!

What was the Titanic?
the Titanic was the largest passenger ship in the world hen it was built in 1912 in belfast, Northern Ireland. It was like a floating town with passengers from all social classes. third-class passengers paid 3 to 8 pounds for a one-way ticket to Amercia. First-class passengers paid 30.

Inside the Titanic
the Titanic was a luxury ship. Rich passengers paid 865 pounds a suite decorated in england styles. There was also the famous Grand Staircase which is in the film Titanic too.

The Titanic's destination
The Titanic's first voyage was from Southampton, in England, to New York City, USA. the ship left on 10 April 1912... but never arrived at her destination.

Titanic on film
The wreck of titanic was found in 1985, about 4km under the sea. James Cameron made his 1997 film, Titanic, using real images of the wreck. It was the highestgrossing film of all time util Avatar (2009).

Visitors can learn about the Titanic and Belfast at a new visitor centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It's a giant building with four wings the shape of titanic's hull.

Who died?

Of the 2,224 people on board, only 710 survived: the were not wnough lifeboats. Most survivors were women, children and the rich: 60% of first-class passengers survived. But only 42 % of second-class and less than 25% of third-class passengers survived.

The last survivor
the last survivor of the titanic died in 2009 aged 98. Her name was Millvina Dean and she was two months she was rescued from the ship.
